Cephalopods are in a group of mollusks that contain octopus, squid, cuttlefish, and the nautilus. Most of the creatures in the mollusk family have diferent numbers of tentacles such as, octopi have 8 tentacles, squid and cuttle fish both have 10 tentacles, and the nautilus has 80-90 tentacles. They live in the oceans all over the world from the tropics to the poles, the inter-tidal area to the abyss. Its head looks like its foot and because of this its foot looks like its head. The name Cephalopod means head foot because their muscular foot is near their head. The foot on a octopus and squid develops into a funnel. They get around by squirting water out of their funnel. With their Jet Propulsion system they can get around very quickly. Something else amazing is their digestive tract which goes right through their brain! These little creatures are full of surprises.
